Tablets are basically computers with touch system and no keyboard. They are light weight and can be used while lying in bed or standing. Touch system makes navigation easy for user. They could be relatively expensive and typing speed could be little slow in it due to its touch phenomenon.

As Android operating system is a free source operating system and any one can use it according to one’s own need so therefore many developers and companies are using this thing to their advantage as they try to launch new and new products with the help of this free source. Android tablets are also part of this development. Android has released a version 3.0 (Honey Comb) which is optimized specifically for tablet devices. Version3.0 works very well for devices with larger screen sizes. Most tablets are built in with 3G or 4G technology but mostly they are made to work on WI-FI technology. Although there are number of feature with the help of which one can say that android tablets are superior to the other tablets available but we are discussing only five major ones:

  4. Toshiba released Folio 100 with size 10.1 inch with a capacitive touch screen and version 2.2 of Android as its operating system.
  5. Samsung released Galaxy Tab in November 2010 with size 7 inch and a capacitive touch screen and version 2.2 of Android as its operating system.
  6. Motorola released Xoom in February 2011 of size 10.1 inch with capacitive multi touch screen and version 3.0 (honey comb) of Android operating system.
  7. ASUS released Eee Pad Transformer in March 2011 of size 10.1 inch with capacitive multi touch screen and version 3.2 of Android operating system.
  8. Sony released Sony Tablet S in April 2011 of size 9.4 inches with capacitive multi touch screen and version 3.1 of Android operating system.
  9. Samsung released Galaxy Tab 10.1 v in May 2011 of size 10. 1 inches with capacitive touch screen and version 3.0 (Honey comb) of Android as its operating system.
  10. Acer released Acer Iconia Tab A500 in June 2011 of size 10.1 inches with capacitive multi touch screen and used version 3.2 of Android as its operating system.
  11. Acer released Acer Iconia Tab A500 of size 7 inches with capacitive multi touch screen and used version 3.2 of Android as its operating system.
